Health-care information provider MCOL said it has started a free public Web site designed to help consumers and employers support, select, and use health plans.

The site, www.myhealthchoices.com, offers help for dealing with rising consumer out-of-pocket hospitalization costs like deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, and benefit limitations and maximums, Modesto, Calif.-based MCOL said Tuesday.
The site includes free e-newsletters and a calculator for determining out-of-pocket costs. The calculator comes with preset HMO, PPO, and high-deductible health plan benefit levels for comparison, but actual benefits of specific plans can be entered as well.
