Independent Bank in Mass. taps new bank president

Independent Bank Corp. in Rockland, Mass., has a new bank president.

The $7.7 billion-asset company said in a press release Thursday that Gerard Nadeau had also joined the boards at Independent and Rockland Trust.

Nadeau succeeded Christopher Oddleifson, who remains chairman and CEO at the company and the bank.

Nadeau, who joined Independent in 1984, has been the company’s executive vice president of commercial lending since 2007.
