The Canadian payment network Interac Association said Thursday that it is introducing a contactless payment system called Interac Flash.
The system has already been tested in Toronto with debit cards issued by Bank of Nova Scotia and readers from Toronto-Dominion Bank's TD Merchant Services. The contactless debit cards also meet the EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications.
Interac said it plans a full Canadian rollout next year.
