NEW YORK - Kemper Insurance has formed an alliance with UnumProvident Corp. and Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. to offer specialized, integrated disability management programs.
The three companies will offer unbundled programs to the growing number of corporate customers who want to integrate management of their group disability and workers' compensation coverages.
Kemper is to supply the workers' compensation coverage and the unbundled workers' compensation claims management through third-party administrator Gallagher Bassett.
UnumProvident is to offer disability coverages as well as management of the related claims. Its subsidiary Genex Services Inc. is to supply the alliance with case management, return-to-work programs, and cost-containment options.
Kemper Insurance, a subsidiary of Zurich Kemper, sells property/casualty insurance and risk management services.
UnumProvident of Portland, Maine, sells group, individual, and voluntary disability benefits products and services.
Gallagher Bassett Services, a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., is a full-service property/casualty administrator, based in Itasca, Ill.
