Mark Twain Bancshares, Inc. St. Louis, has promoted three executives to high-level posts at its principal subsidiary, Mark Twain Bank.

Robert F. Borchert, who had been president and chief operating officer of the banking unit's St. Louis subsidiary, was named its chairman and chief executive. He also becomes chairman and CEO of Mark Twain Bank's St. Louis region, which includes the Illinois bank.

Mr. Borchert succeeds Peter F. Benoist, who has been given added responsibilities in his post as executive vice president at the holding company, including overseeing banking acquisitions and business development.

Ronald T. Barnes, who was a regional president with Mark Twain Bank, will become president and chief operating officer of the St. Louis unit. The St. Louis regional bank presidents report to Mr. Barnes.

Sean P. McManus was named executive vice president of Mark Twain Bancshares and chief lending officer of both the holding company and the Illinois bank.
