Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. said it had promoted Sheldon Francis to vice president and assistant general counsel in its law division's investment law group.
Mr. Francis is based in the Charlotte office of Babson Capital Management LLC, a MassMutual subsidiary. MassMutual, which is based in Springfield, Mass., annoucned the promotion Monday.
Since joining MassMutual in August 2006, Mr. Francis has focuseon structuring and closing collateralized debt obligation transactions, hedge fund transactions, and syndicated bank loan purchases. He was named the head of the bank loan, mezzanine and private-equity, and distressed debt section of the investment law group this year.
