First Republic Bank, a San Francisco private banking, private business banking, and wealth management services division of Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., has hired Jose Marquez as a relationship manager.
Mr. Marquez has more than 28 years of financial services experience and will work with high-net-worth individuals and families, providing private banking, investment management and trust services, and real estate lending at the division's Century City, Calif., office.
First Republic announced the hiring Thursday.
"Jose Marquez is a very successful private banker with a reputation for delivering exceptional client service," Katherine August-deWilde, First Republic's president and chief operating officer said in a press release. "Jose's experience will enable First Republic to serve the growing needs of our clients in the Los Angeles region."
Mr. Marquez was a vice president and a priority wealth manager for Union Bank of California, a Los Angeles bank that is majority owned by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc.
Previously, he had worked for Bank of America Corp. in Los Angeles.
In addition to its Century City office, First Republic has private banking offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Newport Beach, San Diego, Las Vegas, Portland, Ore., Seattle, Boston, and New York.
