MFC Expands Global Fixed-Income Team

MFC Global Investment Management in Boston, a unit of Manulife Financial Corp. of Toronto, has expanded its global multisector fixed-income team.

MFC said Tuesday it hired Thomas C. Goggins as a senior portfolio manager. Rebecca Braeu, who was part of MFC's economic research team, became an analyst covering emerging markets.

Before joining the company, Braeu was an assistant professor of economics at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

Goggins was co-founder and director of research for the Global Long/Short Financial Services Fund at Fontana Capital in Boston.

MFC had $281 billion of assets under management at mid-year.
