National Planning Holdings Inc., a Santa Monica, Calif., unit of Prudential PLC that operates a network of independent broker-dealers, has hired Erik Feldman as a vice president of practice management.

Mr. Feldman, 41, joined the company on Monday to oversee the development and implementation of its adviser support programs, which aredesigned to help National Planning's representatives increase productivity and improve client relationships. He is based in Tampa.
He was a regional sales director for Rex & Co., a San Francisco real estate investment company. Before that he had been a vice president of relationship management for Fidelity Investments.
National Planning's broker-dealer network has 2,996 registered representatives.
