New Marquette unit changes its name.

MINNEAPOLIS - First Bank Coon Rapids, based in Coon Rapids, Minn., has changed its name to Marquette Bank Coon Rapids, reflecting its acquisition by Minneapolis-based Marquette Bancshares.

The Coon Rapids bank was chartered in 1960 as First State Bank. It has three offices and $75 million of assets.

With their accounts converted to the Marquette system, customers will be able to bank at any of the 27 existing Marquette Bank offices in Minnesota. The 14 Marquette subsidiaries have about $1 billion in assets. The company is owned by Carl Pohlad and his family, who also own approximately 40 other banks in 10 other states with combined assets of nearly $3 billion.
