New York Life International LLC, the global arm of New York Life Insurance Co., announced Tuesday that it had promoted Gary Bennett to executive vice president and chief executive officer of its China operation.

Mr. Bennett was chief executive officer and managing director of Max New York Life, the company's joint venture in India. He is to take the China post on Nov. 1.
