New York Life International LLC, a unit of New York Life Insurance Co., has named Anthony Mak the president and chief executive officer of its wholly owned Hong Kong subsidiary, New York Life Insurance Worldwide Ltd.
Mr. Mak has been interim chief executive officer of the unit since late January and was a senior vice president and the chief marketing officer responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's distribution networks, marketing, and product development. His appointment took effect immediately, the company said Tuesday.
A life insurance veteran with 20 years of management, agency sales, development, and training experience, Mr. Mak rejoined New York Life in Hong Kong in 2004 as the unit's chief marketing officer. He began his life insurance career with the company in Toronto in 1988.
New York Life Insurance Worldwide was established in Hong Kong the same year.
