Northeast Bank Insurance Group Inc., a subsidiary of Lewiston, Maine's Northeast Bancorp, announced Wednesday that it had bought Hyler Agency, an insurance business in Thomaston, Maine.
Hyler has $2.4 million in premiums, 2,700 customers, and three employees. It sells property and casualty insurance to families and businesses.
Northeast Bank Insurance has completed six agency purchases in just more than a year. Earlier this month it bought Spence & Mathews Insurance, which has offices in southern Maine and New Hampshire, and last month it bought Hartford Insurance Agency in Lewiston.
The company now operates 14 insurance offices in western, central, mid-coastal, and southern Maine in Anson, Auburn, Augusta, Bethel, Berwick, Jackman, Livermore Falls, Mexico, Rangeley, Scarborough, South Paris, Turner, and now Thomaston — and in Rochester, N.H.
