Northern Trust Global Investments launched an exchange-traded fund based on the FTSE CNBC Global 300 Index, its 17th ETF.

The NETS FTSE CNBC Global 300 Index Fund, which began trading on the NYSE Arca Exchange on Tuesday, joins the NETS Tokyo Stock Exchange REIT ETF as funds in the Chicago company's specialty exchange-traded fund family.
NETS, or Northern Exchange Traded Shares, "are designed to provide ETF-based exposure to important markets around the world using the world's best recognized benchmarks," the company said. The FTSE CNBC Global 300 Index is made up of the 15 largest stocks by full market capitalization from each of the 18 industry classification benchmark supersectors as well as the 30 largest stocks from the emerging market.
