Northside in Georgia Names New Chief

NorthSide Bank in Adairsville, Ga., has hired a new president and chief executive.

The $136 million-asset said Monday that it had hired Larry Flowers, who co-founded and was once president and chief operating officer at MidCountry Bank in Minneapolis. More recently, he was president and CEO at Urban Trust Bank in Orlando, Fla. He left Urban Trust in 2012 and launche his own financial services consulting firm.

Flowers succeeded Rich Guinter, who retired in September 2010 and has since moved to North Carolina, a NorthSide spokeswoman says. Mark Swanson, NorthSide's president of new markets and community affairs, had been served as acting president. Swanson has returned to his former title.

NorthSide also said that it has appointed two directors. Steven Fehlenberg is principal of financial planning and advisory firm Steven Fehlenberg & Co., Bruce Thompson is founder of Thompson Group, an insurance agency in northwest Georgia, and a co-founder of Quote Burst, a firm that provides quoting technologies to insurance agents.
