OceanFirst Financial (OCFC) in Toms River, N.J., has added its president and chief operating officer to its board.
The $2.2 billion-asset company said Monday that Christopher Maher's term as a director is set to expire in 2016. Before joining OceanFirst last March, Maher was the chief executive of Patriot National Bancorp.
Maher "has demonstrated his commitment to our community bank vision and our mission of building value for our shareholders," John Garbarino, OceanFirsts chairman and chief executive, said in a press release. "His appointment to our board completes another key step to our succession planning."
OceanFirst Financial has 23 branches in New Jersey.
