West Coast Bancorp in Lake Oswego, Ore., said Tuesday that it has hired a former Umpqua Holdings Corp. executive as its corporate compliance manager.
The $2.5 billion-asset company said Cara Thompson will oversee compliance with consumer protection laws, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Community Reinvestment Act.
Thompson was the manager of central compliance at Umpqua Bank.
The Jackson, Mississippi, company will use proceeds from the sale of its Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance unit to restructure its investment portfolio, moving $1.6 billion of low-yield securities off the balance sheet.
