Payments Exec Joins Board of Texas Capital
Texas Capital Bancshares in Dallas has named a technology executive from Total System Services to its board.
Patricia Watson joined the board of the $19 billion-asset Texas Capital on Friday. Watson has been chief information officer at TSYS, a payments processor based in Columbus, Ga., since September. She previously was CIO for Brinks Co., and she also previously worked for Bank of America, as a senior technology executive in its treasury, payments and credit area.
Watson is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where she was an executive staff officer, flight commander and director of operations.
While the energy sector and regions that rely heavily on oil and gas production have been hit hard by the glut in the global oil supply and the closure of drilling rigs across the country, the probability of widespread bank failures as a result appears to be remote.
Texas Capital Bancshares in Dallas reported lower quarterly profit that largely reflected an increased provision for energy loan losses.
Texas Capital expanded its board to 14 members to add Watson. She will be appointed to the board's audit and risk committee.
