PayPal Launches Website in Hebrew

PayPal Inc. has launched a Hebrew-language version of its online payment website for Israeli customers.

PayPal, a unit of eBay Inc., already accepts payments in Shekels and provides local customer service in Hebrew, Oded Zehavi, PayPal's regional director for business in Israel and South Africa, said on his company's blog Nov. 7. PayPal can also be linked to Israeli bank accounts and credit cards, Zehavi wrote.

"In Israel we have a vibrant retail sector, but e-commerce is still very new," Zehavi wrote. "At PayPal, our goal is to help jump-start e-commerce by removing one of the key barriers for businesses and consumers: the payment process."
