The online tax-payment service payUSAtax now accepts MasterCard Inc. cards.
The service, run by Value Payment Systems LLC and RBS Worldpay Inc., the U.S. payment processing business of Royal Bank of Scotland PLC, also accepts payments from Visa Inc. cards, Discover Financial Services cards, eBay Inc.'s BillMeLater online payment service, and others. It charges a 1.95% convenience fee for most payments.
When using this service, "tax filers can complete their Federal tax payment to the IRS in minutes and avoid the cumbersome tasks of writing checks or making a trip to the post office," Scott Slusser, Value Payments' chief marketing officer, said in a press release last week.
