Luzerne National Bank Corp. in Luzerne, Pa., has agreed to buy a branch from CCFNB Bancorp Inc.
The $280 million-asset company will also get $17.1 million of deposits located around Hazelton, Pa., according to a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
CCFNB in Bloomsburg, Pa., which had $614 million of assets, said that the branch serves a market area falling outside of its strategic plan. The sale should be completed by mid-2011.
The Philadelphia-based bank's parent company, Republic First Bancshares, had been roiled by a yearslong proxy battle involving activist investors groups and its former CEO.
