Mr. Lynch comes from Radio City Music Hall Productions, where for the last two years he was vice president of events, responsible for development, production, and management of events inside and outside the music hall. As head of event marketing at Visa, Mr. Lynch will oversee sports promotions, special sponsorships, and endorsements. Jan Soderstrom, senior vice president of advertising and marketing services, said Mr. Lynch will develop Visa's event marketing strategies, evaluate all sponsorship and endorsement opportunities, and oversee special promotions. Visa has broadened its marketing activities from sports - sponsoring the Olympics, the National Football League, and the Triple Crown - to such special events as Elton John's recent tour. While at Radio City Music Hall, Mr. Lynch produced such events as the World Cup '94 opening and closing ceremonies, the Third Annual Espy Awards, and the world premier of Disney's "The Lion King." Before working at Radio City, Mr. Lynch was vice president and general manager of Proserv Inc., a worldwide sports management and marketing firm, for six years. He was named AdWeek event marketer of the year for a Waterman Pen/PGA Tour promotion he produced and managed. Mr. Lynch graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1979, and from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in 1986.
