Platinum Names an Expansion Head

Platinum Home Mortgage Corp. of Rolling Meadows, Ill., said Monday that it has promoted Don Grudzinski to senior executive vice president for its Midwest expansion division.

Grudzinski was previously a vice president of production at Platinum. He now oversees operations in states where it wants to open branches: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

In all these states Platinum is either licensed or in the process of getting licensed, a spokeswoman said.

Platinum, founded in 1994, has branches in California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Texas, Virginia and Washington. It originates loans guaranteed by the Federal Housing Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The company is also on Fannie Mae's approved list of HomePath lenders, which provide financing to buyers of the government-sponsored enterprise's repossessed properties.
