PNC Brings In Denise Johnson As Corporate Marketing Chief

PNC Bank Corp. in Pittsburgh has hired Denise Thorne Johnson as senior vice president in corporate marketing. She will be responsible for corporate advertising, public relations, corporate events, and the PNC Bank Foundation, and will share duties in market research. She reports to James E. Rohr, president of the company.

Ms. Johnson was executive vice president and group account director at Arnold Communications, a Boston marketing firm she joined in 1996. There she managed Fleet Bank's advertising and communications account relationship.

Before joining Arnold she was a senior vice president and director of marketing for Bank of Boston's private bank. Earlier she was a senior vice president and director of marketing services for Chemical Bank's consumer bank. She has also held marketing jobs at Citicorp.
