BlackRock Inc. promoted Paul L. Audet to vice chairman and hired Ann Marie Petach as its chief financial officer.

Mr. Audet will run the New York company's global real estate and its cash businesses, it said Thursday.
Mr. Audet had been the acting chief financial officer since March 2007 and had headed the global cash management business since 2005. From 1998 to 2005 he was BlackRock's chief financial officer.
Ms. Petach was vice president and treasurer of Ford Motor Co., where she worked for 23 years.
BlackRock, in which Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. owns a minority stake, was managing $1.364 trillion of assets on March 31.
