Putnam Investments said it had hired Carroll Shipman to be a senior vice president of regional 401(k) sales.
Mr. Shipman is based in Minnesota as director of regional 401(k) sales and marketing through Midwest financial institutions, Putnam said on Monday. He was a vice president and regional sales director at Wachovia Retirement Services, where he had worked since 2000.
Putnam, which is a Boston investment manager, had $168 billion of assets under management at March 31.
