Putnam Investments LLC, a Boston unit of Power Corp. of Canada, has announced the hiring of Eric C. Pedersen to be director of sales and marketing for the Nordic region.
The investment manager also said Wednesday that it has established a stand-alone office in Copenhagen that will serve institutional investors in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland.
Mr. Pedersen was an executive director and the director of strategy for asset management, private banking, and life insurance at Nordea Savings and Asset Management in Copenhagen, where he had worked since 2000.
Putnam had $168 billion of assets under management — $99 billion for mutual fund investors and $69 billion for institutional clients — at March 31. It also has offices in Boston, London, Frankfurt, Rome, Sydney, Tokyo, and Singapore.
