Raymond James Ltd., the Canadian arm of Raymond James Financial Inc. of St. Petersburg, Fla., hired Paul Allison as co-president and co-chief executive officer, with Peter Bailey.
He will join the firm Aug. 4 and partner with Mr. Bailey, to expand Raymond James' equity capital markets and private client businesses in Canada.
The parent company had more than $216 billion of client assets under administration as of March 31.
Mr. Allison has more than 20 years of senior capital markets experience. He had been an executive vice president and a vice chairman at Merrill Lynch Canada and co-headed Merrill's investment banking business since 2001.
Previously he headed equity capital markets at Bank of Montreal's BMO Nesbitt Burns, where he worked from 1994 to 2001.
