Raymond James Financial Inc. named company executive Dennis Zank as its new chief operating officer, one of a handful of executive changes at the investment-banking and wealth-management firm.
Zank has worked for the company since 1978, most recently as president of Raymond James & Associates. Prior to that appointment, he had worked as executive vice president of operations and administration.
As operating chief, Zank succeeds Chet Helck, who will continue to oversee the firm's Global Private Client Group, including responsibility for Raymond James & Associates and Raymond James Financial Services.
Helck started with Raymond James in 1989 as a vice president of business development for its independent contractor subsidiary, according to a biography on the company's website. He became chief operating officer of Raymond James Financial Inc. in March 2002.
"Dennis and his team have done an outstanding job growing our Raymond James & Associates PCG business," said Chief Executive Paul Reilly. "We are looking forward to having his remarkable industry experience and institutional knowledge drive cross-organizational efficiencies, and provide leadership for strategic initiatives."
The company has seen increasing revenue for more than a year as strong results from its private-client group have helped soften the impact of market volatility that has hurt its capital-markets revenue.
