Sandler O'Neill Expands Role of Balance-Sheet Expert

Investment banking firm Sandler O'Neill has given Scott Hildenbrand the additional job of co-chief balance sheet strategist.

Hildenbrand joined Ray Chandonnet in leading the team charged with helping banks manage their securities, borrowings and interest rate derivative portfolios. Chandonnet was previously the sole chief balance sheet strategist at Sandler O'Neill. Hildenbrand's appointment took effect Jan. 1.

In addition to his new role, Hildenbrand will continue his previous work as a managing director developing asset-liability management, portfolio funding and derivative hedging strategies for Sandler O'Neill's clients. He joined Sandler O'Neill in 2004 and was named a managing director in 2010.

"Clients have increasingly sought [Hildenbrand's] deep and rich insights into balance sheet issues," Sandler O'Neill senior managing principal Jonathan Doyle said in a press release issued Wednesday.
