Scotiabank in Cardtronics ATM Deal

Cardtronics Inc. said Monday that Scotiabank Group has agreed to put its name on 200 automated teller machines owned and operated by Cardtronics.

Scotiabank, a Toronto banking company, said it would put its brand on Cardtronics machines in Puerto Rico. Scotiabank's name would initially appear on 40 ATMs, and the remaining 160 would be added over an unspecified period. Cardtronics, a Houston ATM operator, said the agreement could be expanded to other regions.

"Scotiabank serves a tremendous customer base over a large international footprint, a footprint that overlaps Cardtronics in many areas and provides tremendous opportunity for expansion of the relationship between our companies," Rick Updyke, Cardtronics' president of global services, said in a press release.
