Scottrade Opening California, Ohio Branches

The St. Louis online stock brokerage Scottrade Inc. plans to open branches today in Chino, Calif., and Stow, Ohio.

The branches will provide financial education and customer support, Scottrade said last week. Customers can learn about online trading as well as tools and stock research to help them invest online.

The branches do not offer investment advice, Scottrade said, but brokers are available to answer account-related questions.

The Stow branch will be Scottrade's seventh in northeast Ohio, and the Chino branch will be its 21st in California.

Scottrade, which has 350 branches nationally, provides tools and research for self-directed individual investors.
