Silicon Valley Bank Chooses Selfridge to Run D.C.-Area Office

Silicon Valley Bank has named Michael Selfridge to manage its Rockville, Md., office, which focuses on emerging growth companies in Maryland, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

He succeeded Frank Tower, who ran the office for a year. Mr. Tower resigned and is expected to pursue a career at a venture capital firm, the bank said.

Mr. Selfridge, a senior vice president, joined Silicon Valley in 1994 and was the head of structured trade finance in its international banking division.

Earlier he held corporate and international banking jobs in San Francisco with Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. Still earlier he was a loan examiner in Wells Fargo Bank's corporate banking division.
