SouthCrest in Ga. Hires Chief Credit Officer

SouthCrest Financial Group (SCSG) in Peachtree City, Ga., has hired Russ Holland to oversee credit.

The $557 million-asset company announced Monday that Holland will become chief credit officer for its SouthCrest Bank unit. He succeeds Kent Berry, who retired this year.

Holland joins SouthCrest after seven years on the executive management team at Seacoast National Bank in Stuart, Fla. Holland has also worked in credit leadership and development for several other Florida banks, including Union Bank of Florida.

"We are excited to have Russ join us as the leader to drive our credit culture during a time of re-energized loan growth," SouthCrest Chief Executive Kenneth Maloy said in a news release. "We believe the proficiency he has achieved through both positive and negative credit cycles will be highly accretive to the future of SouthCrest."

SouthCrest operates 14 branches in Georgia and Alabama.
