State Street Unit Picks Investment Chief

State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corp., has announced the promotion of Richard Lacaille to global chief investment officer.

Mr. Lacaille is to manage State Street Global's team of asset-class chief investment officers, including the currency, fixed-income, asset allocation, cash, and equities categories, the company said on Monday. He also is to oversee the company's research and trading. He will remain based in London and report to Scott Powers, the president and chief executive officer of State Street Global.

Mr. Lacaille has held senior management posts, including head of global active equities and European chief investment officer, at State Street Global since joining it in 2000.

As European chief investment officer, he was responsible for all investment activity in State Street Global's London, Paris, Munich, and Zurich investment centers.

State Street Global Advisors had $1.9 trillion of assets under management at June 30.
