Sun Life Names Four Presidents

Sun Life Financial Inc. has announced the hiring of a rival's former chief executive officer to be its president, and it named three others as presidents of wealth management units.

The Toronto company announced on Monday that Jon A. Boscia will start as its president on Oct. 14 and be based in Wellesley Hills, Mass.

He is to run Sun Life's overall U.S. business, apart from Massachusetts Financial Services Co., and oversee worldwide marketing.

Mr. Boscia, 56, retired from Lincoln Financial Group in August 2007 after 10 years as its chief executive officer.

Sun Life also hired his former colleagues at Lincoln Westley V. Thompson, who is to join the company on Oct. 27 as president of Sun Life Financial U.S., and Terrence J. Mullen, 43, to be president of Sun Life Financial Distributors Inc.

Mr. Thompson is to take responsibility for Sun Life Financial's U.S. business lines; Mr. Mullen, for its distribution, including the distribution aspects of Sun Life's employee benefits group and its life and annuity products and services.

Robert Salipante, 52, was appointed president of Sun Life Financial International. He was president of Sun Life Financial U.S. the past five years.

Sun Life Financial is an international financial services company that offers a range of protection and wealth accumulation products and services to individuals and corporate customers.

It had $413 billion of assets under management at June 30.
