Ocean to Use Jack Henry Tool
Ocean Bankshares Inc. of Miami has agreed to use core processing software from Jack Henry & Associates Inc.
The Monett, Mo., vendor said last week that Ocean currently uses an in-house system at its $5.8 billion Ocean Bank but plans to switch to Jack Henry's SilverLake System.
Ocean also will install several other Jack Henry products, including the Vertex Teller Automation software and the Yellow Hammer Fraud Detective.
The banking company evaluated several vendors' offerings over the past four years and selected SilverLake because it offered improved reporting capabilities and lower costs, Jack Henry said.
The vendor said that 15% of domestic banks with $1 billion to $30 billion of assets are using SilverLake.
Ocean Bank is the largest independent commercial bank in Florida, with 21 branches in Dade County and Broward County.
Carreker, Client Expand Pact
Carreker Corp. said one of the largest correspondent banking companies has expanded its license to use the Dallas company's imaging software.
The banking company, which Carreker did not name, has been using its image archive software since 2001 and its image replacement document creation software since 2004.
As more banks start converting checks into images and settling them electronically, the banking company's image volume has increased dramatically, and the new agreement "is for unlimited volume," Carreker said last week.
