Tennessee Commerce Bancorp Inc. in Franklin said Thursday that it has hired Frank Perez as its chief financial officer.
Mr. Perez was the CFO at Cumberland Bank and Trust in Clarksville, Tenn., before joining the $1 billion-asset Tennessee Commerce. He succeeded Lamar Cox, who had been the acting CFO since March. Mr. Cox will remain the chief administrative officer.
Tennessee Commerce's former CFO, George Fort, is suing the company, claiming he was fired for alerting regulators to possible misconduct by executives. The company has declined to say why it put Mr. Fort on leave March 7 and fired him on May 6, but it issued a statement denying the allegations in his lawsuit.
