TriCo Bancshares in Chico, Calif., has hired a Wintrust Financial executive as its chief operating officer.
The $4.4 billion-asset parent of Tri Counties Bank hired John Fleshood to replace Carol Ward, who retired on Wednesday. Fleshood started work at TriCo today.
Fleshood had been chief risk officer at the $26 billion-asset Wintrust, in Rosemont, Ill., where he had worked for 11 years. Fleshood also previously worked at the $141 billion-asset Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati.
Ward, who was 61 in April, joined TriCo in 2012 as chief risk officer. She had previously worked for Countrywide Bank in Centennial, Colo., and for Elevations Credit Union in Boulder, Colo.
