SunTrust Banks Inc. said Friday that Larry L. Prince and Karen Hastie Williams will retire this year from the board of directors at the Atlanta company.
SunTrust also announced that it has nominated Kyle Prechtl Legg to be a member of the board of directors.
Prince, 72, has reached the retirement age for directors, SunTrust said.
A director at the bank since 1996, the well-known Atlanta businessman is also on the board of directors at Genuine Parts Co., an automotive and industrial parts distributor.
Williams, 65, has decided to devote more time to personal and other professional interests.
A retired partner in the law firm of Crowell & Moring LLP, Williams served as a director on the board of a predecessor company, Crestar Financial Corp., before joining the board of SunTrust in 2002.
Both Prince and Williams will remain on the board until the company's annual shareholder meeting in April, during which Legg, 59, will stand for election.
Legg, a former chief executive of Legg Mason Capital Management, has spent more than 30 years in the investment industry.
She started at Legg Mason in 1991 and was named its chief executive in 2006.
