UBS Names Investment Co-Chiefs

UBS AG has announced the appointments of Jimmy Neissa and John Wall as global co-heads of investment banking, alongside Rick Leaman.

The appointments this week of Neissa and Wall took immediate effect, and Leaman became chairman of investment banking for "the next few months" to focus on the most important clients, the Zurich banking company said.

Leaman, 47, had been the sole head of investment banking since April. Investment banking contributed more than half the securities division's revenue in the first six months of this year.

Neissa, who is based in New York, was most recently chairman of mergers and acquisitions in the investment banking division. He joined UBS in 2001 and was a co-head of mergers and acquisition in the Americas and later globally.

Wall, who is based in London, has returned to UBS after taking a break from the industry at the end of last year after 22 years with the company.

He most recently oversaw proprietary trading, having spent three years as a co-head of the equities unit.
