UBS Wealth Management Americas named Mike Ryan chief investment strategist as brokerage head Robert McCann continues to put his stamp on the firm's research department.

Ryan, who was head of wealth management research, will now be responsible for enhancing the distribution of UBS' research to its financial advisers and clients.
McCann has made broadening UBS' research capabilities one of his recent priorities.
In July, UBS linked with former Merrill Lynch Chief Investment Strategist Richard Bernstein to help UBS determine how much risk clients should take on, and how they should structure their portfolios.
UBS then looks for exchange-traded funds to fit that strategy; Bernstein provides advice and commentary on those choices.
