UMB in Missouri Taps New CFO

UMB Financial (UMBF) Kansas City, Mo., has a new chief financial officer.

The $15.5 billion-asset company disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday that it had promoted Brian Walker, formerly its chief accounting officer, to become CFO, effective immediately.

Walker succeeded Michael Hagedorn, who had been the company's CFO for nine years. Hagedorn was named president and chief executive of unit UMB Bank.

Earlier this week UMB reported a substantial increase in profits because of loan growth and a rise in fee income. Fourth-quarter earnings rose 65% from a year earlier, to $37.4 million.
