Visa Ends Pact with Indian Outsourcer

Visa Inc. cancelled its contract with the Indian outsourcing provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd., which revealed last month that it had overstated its earnings for several years, according to a report in The Financial Express of New Delhi.

"I would have been surprised if some of the clients had not left after a fraud of such magnitude broke at Satyam," Kiran Karnik, the Hyderabad company's recently appointed chairman, told the paper in an article published Monday.

The insurer Assurant Inc. has also severed ties with Satyam, and several other major clients, are said to be reviewing their relationship with the outsourcer.
