Vogel Named Head of FDIC's New York Regional Office

WASHINGTON — The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. on Wednesday named agency veteran John Vogel as the regional director in its New York office.

Vogel, who has been with the FDIC for 22 years, was previously deputy regional director in New York for risk management. He will now oversee the agency's supervisory work in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands.

He succeeds Doreen Eberley as New York regional director. In July, Eberley was named senior deputy director in the FDIC's division of risk management supervision.

Vogel started his FDIC career in 1990 in the Concord, N.H., field office. He held supervisory positions throughout New England, and in 2009 became assistant regional director in New York.
