Wachovia Securities said Jeremiah Keefe joined its fixed-income division as a managing director and head of distressed debt.

Mr. Keefe, who will be based in New York for the Charlotte unit of Wachovia Corp., will supervise a team that manages distressed trading positions, the company said Monday.
He was the director of distressed research for Deutsche Bank's global distressed trading group. Previously he was a principal at Blackstone Distressed Securities Advisors.
Wachovia Securities' fixed-income division is part of its corporate and investment banking group, which serves public and private companies, institutional investors, financial institutions, and the financial sponsor community.
