Wachovia Securities said it has promoted Mike Powers to managing director for northeastern Ohio.
Mr. Powers will be based in Cleveland and will oversee the expansion in the region, as well as the recruitment of financial advisers there, the Wells Fargo & Co. unit said last week.
He was a senior vice president and complex manager of its Illiana Complex in Orland Park, Ill.
Before joining Wachovia Securities in 2000, Mr. Powers had been a regional sales director and Chicago branch manager for Robert W. Baird Co.
The northeastern Ohio region has 12 branches in Cleveland, Ashtabula, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Chardon, Hudson, Lake County, New Philadelphia, Pepper Pike, and Westlake.
