Prudential Financial Inc.'s domestic annuities unit has formed two sales teams for its wire house distribution channel and hired two national sales managers to run them.
The hiring of Richard Jimenez and Jonathan Cressman, both as senior vice presidents, is part of Prudential Annuities' effort to increase its focus on key client relationships and bolster its presence in the channel, the unit said Tuesday.
Mr. Jimenez will lead a team that will focus on developing sales through Wachovia Corp., A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc., and Raymond James Financial Inc.
He was a national sales manager for ING Funds. Before that he had been a senior vice president of mutual funds and annuity sales for Prudential Securities.
Mr. Cressman will lead a team that will focus on sales through Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Inc.'s Smith Barney, and UBS AG, as well as all regional wire house firms.
He was the Northeast divisional sales manager for Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.'s Planco Financial Services.
Prudential Financial is based in Newark, N.J., and had $648 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
