Woodforest in Texas Names Julie Mayrant Retail Chief

Woodforest National Bank in The Woodlands, Texas, has promoted Julie Mayrant to president of its retail operations, according to a news report.

Mayrant had been the $3.7 billion-asset bank's executive vice president of retail. The Houston Business Journal reported the move, citing the bank. Woodforest officials did not immediately return a phone call Tuesday.

Woodforest has 782 branches across 17 states, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. They include 200 branches in Texas. Many of its branches are in large retail stores, primarily Wal-Marts, and 93% of the branches had assets of less than $10 million in 2012, according to the business journal.
