A new variant of the Trojan horse malware DroidKungFu installs itself alongside updates distributed to users of Android apps, according to an article Computerworld ran Tuesday.
The malware, discovered by the security company F-Secure, prompts the user to provide it with access to text messaging and location data when it is installed alongside an app update, the article said. But it also unlocks deeper access that can put any sensitive data on the phone, including financial data, at risk.
